Introduction:

This adventure ride is a combination of APC Rally and Skinny’s Garage. Organised and facilitated by Alex Kelly, owner and operator of Skinny’s Garage under licence agreement with APC rally as part of their events calendar, advertising and marketing. Using APC rally waiver and legal forms for coverage on ride. The ride is to take place on April 5th, 6th and 7th of April in 2019, and is focused on providing an easy beginners ride for new adventure riders wanting to experience what is involved but also be supported throughout the event.

The ride will start and finish at Boonah in QLD and it will travel down through to Tenterfield on day one. Out to Ashfield (West of Tenterfield) to the limestone caves and Lemon Tree camping area to swim in the Severn River, and return to Tenterfield on day two. Returning to Boonah from Tenterfield on day three on a different route that was taken on day one.

 

Target Audience:

                As mentioned, this ride focused on providing a good place for beginner and new adventure riders to feel no pressure and have support to come on an easy open gravel road ride with like minded people. Fully encouraging female riders to join and also new riders that have never been on an organised ride.

 

What ticket price will cover:

                Upon purchase of a ticket APC and Skinny’s Garage will provide the following for the ride

  • GPS track of the roads that will be travelled for each rider to upload on to their GPS device
  • Accommodation on both nights in Tenterfield, Shared non-ensuite cabin arrangements with full facilities in the caravan site. Provided by Tenterfield Lodge and Caravan Park.
  • Lead Rider, Tail End Rider and Support 4WD vehicle if anyone has a breakdown or issue
  • Mechanic as Tail End Rider for any requirements
  • First Aid officer in support 4WD
  • Storage for each rider in support vehicle for 1 bag size of a woolworths fabric bag so they can bring spare clothes, toiletries, towel, Etc. NON dust proof storage. Anything in bag may get dusty.
  • Possibly some Skinny’s garage and APC merchandise freebies – TBA

 

 

What will NOT be covered in ticket price:

  • Breakfast on both mornings in Tenterfield at local café
  • Dinner on both nights in Tenterfield, locations/eatery to be announced
  • Day food for each rider
  • Fuel for each rider
  • Insurance (health or travel)
  • Any extra expenses

 

Customer Requirements:

                It will be expected that all customers will have their bikes up to a mechanical standard to be able to complete the ride. Basic spares (tubes, levers, etc) are to be customers responsibility. A compatible GPS unit with track loaded on the unit is required for the customer to take part in the event, if technical support it required it will be there. Water hydration pack and day food. Fuel range of 280 - 300km. Rights to refuse a customer or remove a customer from the ride due to behaviour or not being prepared are reserved by organiser.

 

Cost and numbers:

                Cost per ticket per customer is $300 Inc GST for the whole 3 days. This includes all listed above as provided by APC and Skinny’s Garage. With 11 tickets available, first in first served basis. APC rally to collect ticket money and take their cut. The rest to be transferred to Skinny’s Garage to cover expenses as per licence agreement. Bookings will close Friday March 1st 2019.

 

Ride Break Down:

                Day one, Boonah, arrival time 7:30am, Riders to fuel up and congregate at car park opposite BP servo. All riders to provide signed waiver or sign wavier at sign in. Roll call, riders briefing and bag collection at 7:50am, ETD at 8am. Ride through carnies creek, past maroon dam, over the boarder down through paddys flat, down rocky river rd to Tenterfield. Fuel up at Tenterfield and regroup. Take customers to accommodation and settle in for dinner and run down. About 280km

                Day two, wake, breakfast in town at café, depart by 8:30am. Ride west to Ashford and limestone caves, continue to lemon tree camp site for lunch stop and swim in river if warm enough. Leave by 1pm and return to Ashford for fuel top up and then back to Tenterfield for stay and dinner.  About 270km

                Day three, wake, breakfast in town at café, depart by 8:30am. Return back to Boonah via Girraween, Stanthorpe, Kilarny, Condamine river crossing and back to Boonah. Re-group and depart.  About 280km
